Anne Desmet RA – An Italian Journey:

A solo retrospective exhibition at Gainsborough’s House Museum, Sudbury, Suffolk www.gainsborough.org featuring some 50 of the artist’s prints and collages on Italian themes made over the last 30 years. It was on show until 14 October 2018 and was a follow-up to Desmet’s exhibition of the same title that launched at the Royal Overseas League in Mayfair, London, in 2016 www.rosl.org.uk. A special feature of this exhibition was a brand new wood engraving: ‘Towards the Light’ featuring the spiral staircase of the museum. Special editions of variants of this print were commissioned by the Museum and donated by the artist for the Museum’s fundraising campaign. These prints remain available for sale in the Museum’s shop.
