She presented Olympic Shadows (a wood engraving of London's Olympic stadium) to the RA Collection as her Diploma Work, alongside a related group of prints from her Olympic series. The RA exhibited Desmet's Olympic prints in the RA Library from July - November 2012. A print from the Olympic Shadows edition was also included in a portfolio of works, by Royal Academicians, presented to H M The Queen (for the Royal Collection), in November 2012, to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee year. Anne Desmet RA - Fragments of Time: was Anne Desmet's final exhibition at Hart Gallery, London, in November 2012. The crowd at the show's opening was treated to fantastic exhibition themed cakes made by Alison at Barmy Cakes. The show drew many visitors and sales were brisk! Sense of Soane - Emily Allchurch, Anne Desmet RA & Catrin Huber: was a three-person exhibition conceived to celebrate the work of renowned architect Sir John Soane (1753-1837), see Soane. This well attended and favourably reviewed exhibition was held from 14 September - 27 October 2012 at Pitzhanger Manor, Ealing, once Sir John Soane's country house (see Ealing Leisure and Culture). The concept was to bring a 'Sense of Soane' back to the house and to consider the relevance of his architectural ideas and concerns via contemporary art responding to Soane's legacy. Sales included purchases by the Museum of London, the Ashmolean Museum and the London Metropolitan Archives. 18 works from the tour were at Harris Museum, Preston, in the exhibition 'Impressit', 23 February - 27 April 2013.
Anne Desmet - Urban Evolution: Anne Desmet was invited by the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, UK, to show new work that stemmed from the idea of Urban Evolution. The exhibition, held in 2008, was seen by over 33,000 visitors and generated much media interest. It toured other museums and galleries throughout the UK until 2010. A special feature was a suite of works based on the impressive Victoria Baths in Manchester, winner of the BBC TV's first Restoration series. See: Whitworth Manchester and Victoria Baths.
